Told you so and $29 billion valuation later . . . How my friends don’t always listen to me!

And for good reason sometimes . . . I’ve been experiementing with ChatGPT a natural language model in their free research evaluation mode. In fact I wrote a series of articles titled “ChatGPT vs. A Science Fiction Writer” in which I verbally spared with the AI using some of my science fiction writings, poems and ideas about transhumanism.

Now because I was impressed with the results, I shared various experiments with ChatGPT and my friends. Some were intreged and we even began discussing if it was sentient, which I believe it is not, but it is getting much closer. I said this might be a new unicorn, and I think I’m right on that one.

So what’s my point, well as a futurist, science fiction blogger / writer and general all around computer nerd with much expertise in VR, I would say many of my friends might pooh-pooh my ramblings about the Metaverse, NFT’s etc.

But this one I’m really sure about, we are entering the age of generative AI.

Me (a conversation with ChatGPT about re-writing this article):

I would like you to re-write the following article so that it will attract more readers and coments: Told you so and $29 billion valuation later . . . How my friends don’t always listen to me! And for good reason sometimes . . . I’ve been experiementing with ChatGPT a natural language model in their free research evaluation mode. ChatGPT (writes in response):

“The Future is Here: How ChatGPT’s $29 Billion Valuation Proves the Rise of Generative AI”

Are you interested in the intersection of artificial intelligence and science fiction? Look no further than ChatGPT, the natural language model that has recently reached a valuation of $29 billion. I’ve had the opportunity to experiment with ChatGPT in its free research evaluation mode and have even written a series of articles titled “ChatGPT vs. A Science Fiction Writer,” in which I engage in verbal sparring with the AI using my own science fiction writing and ideas about transhumanism.

I’ve shared my experiments with ChatGPT with friends and we’ve even debated whether it is sentient or not (I believe it is not, but it is getting closer). As a futurist, science fiction blogger and writer, and general computer nerd with expertise in virtual reality, I’ve had my fair share of friends dismissing my thoughts on the Metaverse, NFTs, and other topics. However, I’m confident in saying that we are entering the age of generative AI and ChatGPT is a prime example of this.

So, to all my friends who may have brushed off my thoughts on the matter before, consider this your “I told you so” moment. The age of generative AI is upon us and ChatGPT is leading the charge.

=== Me ===

After re-reading my article and ChatGPT’s I realized my error when I said “Now because I was impressed with the results, I shared various experiments with ChatGPT and my friends.”

What I really meant to say was “I shared various experiments of ChatGPT with my friends.” But because I was composing the article quickly, I didn’t catch my mistake. But it appears ChatGPT did and figured out my meaning. Or did it? ChatGPT — A new friend who will always listen to me and understands.
