Excellent article! Yes, I agree on all points. I have a number of projects which are a hybrid of both JavaScript and PHP on client and server side. They work well, and as a single developer I'm able to maintain them relatively easy. For example I use PHP for content management and e-commerce with a custom JavaScript front end. This gives me the power of both Bootstrap and Node.js and Drupal, Maria DB and LAMP stack and even mobile apps. Tried and true should never be smirked at.
